The Future's Bright

With the season now underway, this is a good time to give my early impressions of FC Vaduz's exploits in Valderrama so far. And overall, things have been very positive for my side. My senior team are sitting pretty comfortably inside the top 100 in the rankings, and are top of their league after 8 games, with a game in hand too. My starting aim was to finish in the top 10 so I could move into a higher tier league next season, but now I would be disappointed if my side did not finish in the top 5. It's still early days, but initial signs are good.

On the youth side, things have been going very well. After selecting a few youth-eligible players in my initial side, I set about scouring the free agent list for handy youngsters to step in and do a job. With the aid of four loans and a few trials, I have built a very competitive young side currently sitting 14th in the youth ranks! My under-21 side (Junioren-A) are also responsible for my first competition win, a 10 team league with some good sides in it. In celebration of this win, I'm dedicating the rest of this post to my youngsters, and in particular some of my budding starlets.

First up is Felipe Tello, a 16-year old attacking midfielder. He is so gifted technically that he has already made several league appearances for my senior side, taking the man of the match award on his debut! His wages are quite high for a player of his age but with an initial assessment of his potential standing at 4 stars it could work out to be a bargain!

Next up is Romanian full-back Dan Patrascu (name ring a bell..?). I spotted young Dan being advertised in the Transfer chat room before the market had even opened, and straight away fired a message off to his owner asking how much he was looking for. Due to the initial tax on any profit made, I knew I could get him for base acquisition fee. His gaffer came back asking for exactly that, plus a 30% future profit clause. I bit his hand off, and put the bid in as soon as the market opened. I'm not expecting to sell Patrascu any time soon!

Finally, 17 year old Turkish striker Kandemir Mustafa. Kandemir may not look up to much at first, but I picked him up for base wage (as the only bidder) because of his key attributes being above 10. He hasn't got off to the greatest of starts in terms of performances, but as you can see from his green arrows, he is progressing fast. Hopefully he can keep on improving on his goal ratio alongside his attributes.

So those are the most notable players in my side at present, but thats not to take anything away from the rest of the side. Here's my full squad complete with average rating and form at youth level on the far right hand side.

So for the time being its the youngsters of FC Vaduz taking the headlines. But here's hoping for some senior success to follow soon!
